Weekly Tips for Your Peak Fitness and Wellness This Week's Tip: Oh, Sweet Strawberries! Nothing signals the start of summer like the taste of just-picked, local strawberries. These delicious fruits are getting even healthier, too: According to a recent study, women who ate two or more servings of strawberries a week had lower blood levels of C-reactive protein, a biomarker for inflammation in the blood vessels. A serving of strawberries has more vitamin C than an orange. Straws are also great sources of fiber, potassium, folate, and a host of antioxidants, which, in addition to their heart health benefits, help prevent some cancers and improve brain function. Now is the start of strawberry picking season, so grab the kids and head to the nearest patch. Once you get home, resist loading them up with extra sugar!
